TMS have established a reputation for building high quality stage scenery. We do this with the departments listed below. Without these teams and their unique way of working together as one, we would not be the company we are today.
Carpentry
We have a team of full time carpenters. Of which the majority have been with the company for 15 years. Led by Mike Christopoulos, their experience and expertise along with their varied backgrounds brings invaluable experience to the company. From mortise and tenon with throw line and cleat, to simple on edge timber flats or just cladding, their experience and love for their work shines through the job.
Recent theatrical shows include: The Lion King (Spain), Wicked (Holland), Sweeney Todd (Chichester Festival Theatre) and The Wizard of Oz (London Palladium).
In television: HBO Wimbledon News Desk, TNT Wimbledon News Desk and ABC News Studio.
Engineering
Our team of engineers have been with the company for 10 to 15 years. Led by Steve Melrose, their skills encompass all forms of fabrication from simple treads, to more complex structures (Shrek The Musical, Dreamworks Theatrical 2011). The majority of work is steel, however they also work in aluminium most recently on Zorro (Moscow, 2010).
Scenic Arts
We have a team of full time scenic artists. Their work is currently showcased in Les Misérables, The Lion King, Billy Elliot, Shrek The Musical, Wicked, Mamma Mia! and The Phantom of the Opera (including the 25th anniversary production). We also work with Chichester Festival Theatre, Lyric Hammersmith, Scottish and English National Ballet’s and Royal Shakespeare Company. Numerous exhibitions including military museums and fashion shows.
The above departments are backed up by an office staff comprising of production managers, draughts people and administration.
Above all each department and every individual are charged with quality control.
We have built up an impressive relation with various other companies offering services to complement ours. These include engineering, sculpting, fabrics and drapes, props, castors, rigging, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
